You’ll be welcomed to Villa Aperitivo by a traditional atmosphere of the times gone by. Start each morning of your holiday with a refreshing bath in the private swimming pool in front of the stone house, finish with a glass of wine on the four poster sunbed with panoramic view over the Compitese hills, and, in between, enjoy amenities like a TV, Wi-Fi and a fully equipped kitchen.The house is also partially air-conditioned (bedrooms only).
The villa is a private farmhouse retreat bursting with charm and character. Step through its stone façade and into beautifully restored interiors with classic cotto floors, beamed ceilings and antique accent pieces. There was never a time that I felt uncomfortable sleeping with all windows wide open at night in order to maximize the cool night breezes. The private country setting allowed me to unwind from my adventure packed days. I stayed there for 30 continuous days and my guests all said the villa was their favorite part of their Tuscany experience .

The Villa had a great little pool which we made the most of every day and there was plenty of space for us to relax, cook and have a lovely holiday together as a family. It was clean and well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. Being set back from the road, up a steep hill, means the view across the Tuscan hills from the the back of the villa and garden was wonderful. Our welcome host was kind and friendly and was on hand if we needed anything. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Such an incredible place. Our family had a magical time here. Everything was perfect. Great location not far from Lucca and a 30 minute drive to the sweetest beach town of Forte dei marmi. Across the street there’s a small store that has local oil, cheese, Salumi, wine and pretty much anything else you’ll need. The house is incredible, the decor, the linens. The beds were so comfortable, gorgeous huge bathrooms. Truly everything was perfect. The house was pretty warm during the day with units in each room that don’t really cool..just move the air around. But at night it really cools off so we slept with windows open and the units running. The pool isn’t huge but perfect for cooling off. There’s also a supermarket down the street that also has anything you can’t find in the place across the street. A local pizza place, pizza shalomi was wonderful, the seeetest family runs it. And we had wonderful meals in Lucca. We also bbq’d sausage and made pasta one night. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would ever need! We spent many hours lounging by the pool, reading and resting which was perfect as we had spent the previous 10 days walking and sightseeing elsewhere. We also rented bikes in Lucca and climbed the tower with the garden on top (forget the name). Lots of fun in Lucca with shops, restaurants, and a lively square. The only negatives (very very minor) were the car noise from the road (the house sits high up on the main road). It was not bad and didn’t bother us at all, but wanted to mention it. And the grass was mostly brown (which I totally get is from the area trying to conserve water during a drought). Truly neither were a big deal to us, but just wanted to mention. All in all I cannot say enough good things about villa apperitivo, I hope to be back again and again!

Each of the 4 bedroom suites features a double-size bed, TV, and ensuite bathroom. Doors to the gardens allow the rooms to fill with fresh breezes, while air conditioning keeps you comfortable in the summer months.
The villa is an easy drive from the Lucca Old Town and from the highway junction of Lucca Est, as well as the Pisa Airport and town. The Tuscan countryside is dotted with other nearby gems, including San Gimignano, Volterra, Lajatico, Pisa, Versilia and Cinque Ter-re.
Owner and his wife lives in the hayoft opening to the garden, so they are neighbours. Garden is shared. Car parking located in 1 or 2 min walk away from the house. The house gate is only reachable on foot from the nearby parking. Air conditioning is in each bedroom but not in the ground floor living area.
