There was never a time that I felt uncomfortable sleeping with all windows wide open at night in order to maximize the cool night breezes. The private country setting allowed me to unwind from my adventure packed days. I stayed there for 30 continuous days and my guests all said the villa was their favorite part of their Tuscany experience .

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful villa tucked in the countryside just outside Lucca. The Villa had a great little pool which we made the most of every day and there was plenty of space for us to relax, cook and have a lovely holiday together as a family. It was clean and well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. Being set back from the road, up a steep hill, means the view across the Tuscan hills from the the back of the villa and garden was wonderful. Our welcome host was kind and friendly and was on hand if we needed anything. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Such an incredible place. Our family had a magical time here. Everything was perfect. Great location not far from Lucca and a 30 minute drive to the sweetest beach town of Forte dei marmi. Across the street there’s a small store that has local oil, cheese, Salumi, wine and pretty much anything else you’ll need. The house is incredible, the decor, the linens. The beds were so comfortable, gorgeous huge bathrooms. Truly everything was perfect. The house was pretty warm during the day with units in each room that don’t really cool..just move the air around. But at night it really cools off so we slept with windows open and the units running. The pool isn’t huge but perfect for cooling off. There’s also a supermarket down the street that also has anything you can’t find in the place across the street. A local pizza place, pizza shalomi was wonderful, the seeetest family runs it. And we had wonderful meals in Lucca. We also bbq’d sausage and made pasta one night. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would ever need! We spent many hours lounging by the pool, reading and resting which was perfect as we had spent the previous 10 days walking and sightseeing elsewhere. We also rented bikes in Lucca and climbed the tower with the garden on top (forget the name). Lots of fun in Lucca with shops, restaurants, and a lively square. The only negatives (very very minor) were the car noise from the road (the house sits high up on the main road). It was not bad and didn’t bother us at all, but wanted to mention it. And the grass was mostly brown (which I totally get is from the area trying to conserve water during a drought). Truly neither were a big deal to us, but just wanted to mention. All in all I cannot say enough good things about villa apperitivo, I hope to be back again and again!

Gli accenti in legno scuro e gli elettrodomestici moderni aggiungono un tocco di stile moderno e raffinato all'influenza d'altri tempi dell'atmosfera lussuosa di Dimora delle Camelie. Il giardino privato recintato e il patio sono come un proprio caffè privato, con un tavolo da pranzo e un'area soggiorno e muri in pietra autentici, è il posto perfetto per godersi il caffè mattutino o un digestivo dopo una giornata incredibile.
Dimora delle Camelie si trova nella frazione di Sant'Andrea di Compito, dove il tempo sembra essersi fermato all'era del nostro nonno. Il villaggio è famoso per il suo fascino medievale e per un'esposizione annuale di alberi di Camelie, che sono stati importati all'epoca degli scambi commerciali locali con il Giappone all'inizio del 1800.
Passeggia ogni giorno lungo le strade medievali all'alba o al tramonto, scopri ville vecchie di centinaia di anni, piccole sorgenti e ruscelli che scorrono attraverso (e sotto) il villaggio, bei muri in pietra, case graziose, fattorie, frutteti, vecchi pozzi, uliveti e, in tutto il villaggio, bellissime e antiche Camelie in fiore. Non perderti Lucca che dista solo 9 km (un facile tragitto di 15 minuti). Proprietario e sua moglie vivono nel fienile con apertura sul giardino, quindi sono vicini. Il giardino è condiviso. Il parcheggio auto si trova a 1 o 2 minuti di cammino dalla casa. Il cancello della casa è raggiungibile solo a piedi dal parcheggio vicino. Il condizionatore è in ogni camera da letto ma non nell'area living del piano terra.
