From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the charm of the surroundings, the impeccable cleanliness and the warm welcome.(Thanks to Daniela) Every detail has been thought through with taste, and everything is in place for an unforgettable stay: spacious, bright rooms, comfortable bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, and an enchanting exterior conducive to relaxation.
The swimming pool was a delight for young and old alike, and meals shared on the terrace will remain among our fondest memories. The villa is ideally located in a peaceful setting, yet close to all amenities and places of interest in the region. However, the access road can be stressful for those who are not used to steep, tight mountain passes. Many thanks to our hosts for their availability, kindness and attention. We left feeling light-hearted and refreshed, and with just one wish: to come back! |

The beds were comfy and the place quickly felt like home. We loved Lucca itself and had a lot of fun using this place as a jumping off point! Although, if you are going to Florence or surrounding areas for a day trip I recommend using the train so you do not have to waste time getting stuck in traffic. Lot's to see nearby! We loved this place so much we decided to stay an extra 2 nights and they were so helpful and accommodating when we asked to stay! We hope to return in the future.

We stayed at La Macina Farmhouse for ten nights in October 2024. The photos do not not truly capture how special this 16th century villa is, it is magical. There were days we did not leave the villa as it had everything we could wantneed and was such a nice retreat from the cities we visited in the surrounding region. It is perfectly located in the hills above Lucca, day trips to Firenze, Sienna, Pisa, Carrara, Forte di Marmi and Parma are easy to drive to for daily adventures. The restaurants in the surrounding hills were incredible with great menus at very reasonable prices. I highly recommend this property and Lucca Apartments & Villas for their exceptional service.

Well we all just wanted to say that we had the BEST vacation in your lovely country.
Your help and guidance was INVALUABLE!! Katherine from Tuscan Drivers was just perfect as we had some interesting challenges from Airline changes to road closures to the Villa to early morning departures. She was WONDERFUL and so was Andre in assisting us at the last minute. Cristina and her daughter are EXCELLENT chefs and they made our stay just perfect. From provisioning the villa, to making dinner, to shopping and to assisting us for many small requests. They were just the BEST!!! The Villa itself was perfect for us and the outside kitchen really made us feel like we truly lived in Tuscany. Needless to say the pool was well used and a FANTASTIC place to relax and cool off. Our weather was perfect to enjoy all aspects of the Villa. We even met the owner Mr. Martinelli who helped us out of a potential transportation problem and who would not even take a tip!!! We speak no Italian and he speaks a little English. It was very, very funny. He is a delightful man. The masseuse Alina was WONDERFUL! We all agreed it was one of the best massages EVER. She was on time, personal, spoke perfect English and was just great. I would highly recommend her and and she did 3 massages in one day!!! Our wine tour day and lunch were spectacular and our wine has already arrived from Lucca. Each wine was better than the next. The whole experience was perfect and we have you and Cristina to thank for that. I would like to be able to post a review to Marriott, Tuscan Drivers and one about you but really have no idea how to do that. If you have any ideas I would be happy to be able to give the credit your all deserve and to share with others who may need your help. Thank you again for all your wonderful help and may you stay safe and healthy. We may be back....... |

La cuisine / salle à manger ouverte est très agréable et la Piscine magnifique. Les propriétaires prennent soin de leurs espaces et sont juste à côté en cas de besoin... Bref le rêve pour les amoureux de la nature, le tout proche de Lucca. Mais Chut... ne le dîtes pas à tout le monde !

Bit of an adventurous drive up the hill but we met with someone from the house in the town of Lucca and they showed us the way, so check in was smooth and as arranged. We had no issuesproblems. Everything worked fine. Maybe not the super fastest WiFi in the world but it was not an issue. Enough normal cell coverage to compensate. Everything was very clean and the garden and pool are immaculate. Very private. What we did not realise is that essentially the residence consists of 3 separate cottages. One has two bedrooms and the two others have 1 bedroom each. All with additional bedsofas if necessary. This was great for us as we were two parties of 4 and 2 people, so we were all together and all had our privacy as well. I believe the residence is always rented as one, so you are always guaranteed privacy. The very nice owner lives in the main house next door and was available if necessary. Each cottage as full ammenities! Full kitchen with dishwasher and all the mod-cons and all have shower/wc plus nice living areas with brand new TVs incl netfilx etc. They are not huge cottages but this is a place made for outdoor living anyway. The outside kitchen (also with ALL amenities!!) is fantastic, boasting a big bbq area and a real pizza oven..... We used it all and it was fantastic. We visited late autumn and it was unexpectedly cold. We could not quite enjoy all the outside possibilities but used the outside kitchen anyway because it was so much fun! As mentioned the house is up on a hill with incredible views so a bit of a drive is necessary to get out and about but absolutely worth it. Big food shopping store 15min by car down the hill. Absolutely worth it - would definately book again.

We really enjoyed our holiday in a beautiful house with breathtaking surroundings. First of all, there's a lot of privacy and the accommodation is perfect for families/groups. The house is nicely decorated and very clean. The view, garden and swimming pool are amazing. We liked the outdoor kitchen, including a pizza oven and barbeque. Location is good, restaurants, supermarkets and multiple cities are easily accessible. Everything was just perfect and we would absolutely recommend this beautiful place.

The location is stunning, as the photos show, and the outside spaces worked very well for us, for breakfast, lunch, dinner, chilling out by the pool, playing games etc. The pool is the most amazing I have ever seen! The three villas are all very nice inside - everything was clean, comfortable and worked well. The kitchens are well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and it's a very peaceful spot so we all slept well. The layout of the three villas is good for privacy as we all had our own space. The villa is beautiful and the views are stunning. Waking up everyday to the most beautiful view and relaxing atmosphere was perfect. Mrs Sonia was very accommodating to our needs also. The restaurant at the bottom of the villa is great! We will definitely come back!

Great place! Fantastic views over the mountains and flat-land of Lucca. Great interior and exterior. Great host and the lovely Mrs Cristina can help you with purchase of food and cook wonderful dinners. She helped us out when our plane was delayed and cooked a magnificent dinner one night. 500 meters from the house is Botteghino, a bar and a restaurant also a great place. Get your take-away pizzas in the village below the house, a 5-minutes drive. Supermarket Esselunga is 10 minutes from the house they have everything you need. Comfy beds and efficient wifi. The villa is great and so are the sorroundings. We are very pleased with our stay.
Also, I want to let Christina know again how wonderful the dinner you prepared for us was. I would love your pizza recipe as it was very different than pizza that we get in the United States. |

The outside of this property could not have been any better. The pool area is amazing and extreme-ly clean (perfect for adults and small children). The pool is set up with a large landing perfect for little children learning to swim, a spa like area with bubbles and a constant 5 ft depth throughout. The view is breathtaking as advertised and the pictures on this listing are what you will find, only live is better. There are two outdoor showers, a refrigerator for drinks and a very nice bathroom outside as well which were excellent amenities and the grounds are amazing. A hammock under a covered trellis with a view of Lucca and horses at arms length,roses that climb rock walls with rosemary and butterflies - simply amazing. It was a great stay. Sonia has some great recommendations on things to do, make sure to ask. We’ll be back!

We had a great stay at the villa. There are 3 separate houses. One has two bedrooms, the other two have 1 bedroom each. It was great for 3 couples and a kid as all of us had our own rooms. They can provide cribs if requested. We were so happy with thvis di più
We had a great stay at the villa. There are 3 separate houses. One has two bedrooms, the other two have 1 bedroom each. It was great for 3 couples and a kid as all of us had our own rooms. They can provide cribs if requested. We were so happy with this rental. There is a beautiful view of Lucca over the pool. There is a nice kitchen in the middle house that we used to make breakfast most days. There is a washing machine that we used quite a bit as our toddler generates a lot of dirty clothes. My son enjoyed petting and feeding the horses on the property. Barbara, the owner, is available and very friendly. She stocked the fridge with groceries based on our list and arranged a private chef for us one night. That was a highlight of our trip and we strongly recommend doing that. If we ever plan a trip to Tuscany again, we will try and return!

La villa può ospitare comodamente fino a 6 persone, con 3 camere da letto elegantemente arredate, ciascuna con un letto matrimoniale. Gli interni sono curati nei minimi dettagli, con un design che miscela comfort moderno e charme tradizionale toscano. L'ampia proprietà di 106 mq è completamente attrezzata per garantire un soggiorno piacevole e rilassante.
