Immerse yourself in Tuscan country life at VILLA QUERCIABELLA. Once a period villa dating back to 19th century, this four-bedroom property near Lucca has been transformed into a charming country home with spacious rooms, modern amenities and inviting out-door areas. Catch a glimpse of the villa’s past in its large fireplaces, and appreciate its present as you relax by the pool.
The indigo-blue villa looks out onto wide green lawns and surrounding farmland and olive groves. Prepare local produce on the outdoor barbecue and enjoy it at the table under a vine-covered pergola. The swimming pool is huge and it is bordered by a spacious gar-den and pool house with changing area, toilet and refrigerator. Despite the rural location, the villa is well-connected, with cable television and Wi-Fi access and it is located within a 10 mins drive away form Lucca.
Once the private villa of the famous Italian aviator Carlo Del Prete -he became famous for his crossings who took him to Australia and the Americas in 1920s, setting several records of stay in flight and distance travelled- VILLA QUERCIABELLA’s living areas are now bright and airy, with vaulted ceilings and pale furniture. Soft furniture create a restful feel that it is accented by wall paintings of exotic landascape’s made by the aviator’s Mexican wife in the early 20th century. For cosier evenings, there are sitting areas around the original fireplace.
VILLA QUERCIABELLA is located on the hill town of San Macario, close to Lucca and about 35 minutes from the Pisa airport. A 5-minute drive will take you to restaurants, grocery stores selling local food, a butcher, a farm selling eggs and cheeses, take away pizzerias and ice cream shops. The major sightseeing towns are located between 20 and 60 minutes away such as Cinque Terre, Florence, Pisa, Pistoia, Livorno, San Gimignano, Bolgheri, Montecarlo, Pistoia, Montecatini Terme, Garfagnana, Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi.
Check-in is between 3pm and 8pm. A late check-in is possible with an extra fee of Euro 50 up to 11 pm, plus Euro 25 per hour for each extra hour.

Das Objekt ist eine wunderschöne, historische Villa, sehr liebevoll restauriert und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Betten sind sehr gemütlich und wir hatten als 7 köpfige Reisegruppe alle viel Platz zum Schlafen. Die Küche ist sehr großzügig und sehr gut ausgestattet mit einem riesigen Kühlschrank und Eisfächer. Einzig das Wohnzimmer ist etwas klein aber sehr gemütlich. Höhepunkt ist sicherlich der wunderbare, sehr große Pool mit reichlich Liegemöglichkeiten und wunderbaren Ausblick in die herrliche toskanische Landschaft. Der Check in war einfach und die Besitzer überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit.

We had a fantastic time here with our family. The owners and Christina, the property manager, are great, and helped us to settle right in. The house is beautiful, with all spaces adequate and the kitchen area excellent. The real hero of the place is the very large pool with patio where we spent most of our time. The house is a short 15 minute drive to Lucca with endless shopping and dining options, but very secluded in the Tuscan hills with great privacy and lots of wonderful nature around for hiking and biking. Highly recommended!

A stunning villa in wonderful grounds that was a treat to make ours for a week.
The house is a spacious 4 bedrooms, with amble space throughout. There’s a 4 poster bed, a second double, then 2 x twin rooms. All were comfortable beds.

The house is a spacious 4 bedrooms, with amble space throughout. There’s a 4 poster bed, a second double, then 2 x twin rooms. All were comfortable beds. There were plenty of lovely spots to sit inside and outside, including a dining room inside the house, covered dining area next to the house and another space at the end of the garden. Down a few steps through the olive trees...and the highlight was the private pool, which is a decent size and beautifully laid out. There are sun beds, another covered seating area next to the pool, a small shed area (with fridge and a few inflatables!) and convenient poolside bathroom. We spent most of our time sat around here (despite the unseasonably poor weather!) because it’s just such a picturesque spot. All the basics were there in the kitchen, although no frills so we had to be buy in most things (even salt, pepper, oil, etc). Everything else (crockery, kitchen equipment, towels, etc was fine). We also enjoyed use of the BBQ. Any little problems we had were dealt with quickly my the management companyowner. There’s no shops in walking distance, but it’s an easy 15 min drive into Lucca, 35 mins to Pisa and many other great spots to explore. All in all, it was a fantastic trip. I’d be very happy to return. |

The best holiday ever!! We absolutely loved everything about Villa. A good time was had by all. Sonia recommendation of the Villa for our 2 families- 6 adults and 2 teenagers worked out beautifully. Sonia was very helpful and always available to answvis di più
The best holiday ever!! We absolutely loved everything about Villa. A good time was had by all. Sonia recommendation of the Villa for our 2 families- 6 adults and 2 teenagers worked out beautifully. Sonia was very helpful and always available to answer any questions every step of the way. Cristina both talented chef and caretaker, was very welcoming and helpful with suggestions of things to do. The Villa was set among the beautiful gardens, olive trees and oak trees. There was plenty of space for all to separate, roam, relax and have quiet time. At the same time it was wonderful for us all to gather in the spectacular old kitchen to cook and then share the meal on the lovely grand terrace in the garden.. We felt like living in the past with the old potteries and cutleries, the antique chairs and furniture, a very shabby atmosphere! We thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the private pool and walking down to the village for gelato. The add on activities were amazing which included Pisa, Cinque Terra, and a Truffle tour. The highlights were the Personal Chef Dinner and the Cooking Class that Sonia arrange for us. Chef Cristina is awesome cook! We loved the short drive to the charming city of Lucca and spending time shopping and strolling along the narrow streets. villa querciabella is truly a beautiful and peaceful place among the hills. Thank you Sonia for everything. We will treasure the memories forever! Dreaming of our next trip back to the countryside.

Accessible location which was a great base to explore the Lucca region and beyond. Cristina made the check in process very easy and explained everything well. She also prepared us a couple of amazing dinners!! We would definitely recommend this Villa and look forward to returning one day.

Dear Mrs Sonia we have now returned home, however I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay in Lucca at your stunning villa. Everything at the villa was perfect - clean, spacious, all the equipment desired for a comfortable stay. The huge pool was a treat and the furniture was ideal to relax in your charming Tuscan setting. From the villa we had daily trips to almost everywhere, thanks to the ideal location of the house which was close to Lucca, Florence, Pisa and Cinque Terre. We also visited Siena. We would definitely return and would recommend you to others!

This place is flat out wonderful! Not only it is clean and neat and lovingly cared for, but look around you! Every little detail is done to perfection. In short, it's just what you want a tuscan villa in a 17st century Tuscan hillside hamlet to look like. The pictures on here do not do this place justice. Having a car is great so you can explore all the famous hill towns as well as Lucca town centre and its wine country, all of which are easy day trips. Lucca town centre is at less than 10 mins drive! We espe-cially enjoyed Lucca and Montecarlo. The nearby village is nice to see and provides you with an excellent supermarket and amazing little groceris and easy access to roads leading everywhere. Sonia is on the premises every day to guide you around the area, providing very helpful information on parking, tours, restaurants, etc. She totally understands customer service and obviously enjoys being the co-proprietor of this lovely place. She might even give you a whiff of his own homegrown and heavenly olive oil. On the sad day when we left the villa, I promised Sonia I would write him a glowing review and recommend it to everyone. And indeed I do! Thank you Sonia for a memorable week in Tuscany!

We celebrated out 30th anniversary (Oct. 15) with family & friends at Villa Querciabella. Upon arrival, Oct. 13) we were greeted w/drinks, appetizers and a wonderful tuscan dinner. The villa is something out of a story book-attention to detail in every room! Mrs Sonia surprised us w/homemade pastries, cakes and ice cream! Of course, there was plenty of wine! While we were there, we had a pizza party and a chef came in to teach us how to cook a tuscan meal! Never had so much fun in my life-we laughed and sang while preparing our meals! On our last day, Mrs Sonia and family came with a home made cake for us! The next morning we left very early and Mrs Sonia was there to send us off! Of course, we all had tears in our eyes when saying good-by! Such a beautiful family and memories we'll never forget! This experience will be remembered the rest of our lives! This was our second time renting from Sonia and it won’t be the last. Maureen

My family - 8 adults and a one-year-old grandchild - stayed at this property for two weeks in the summer of 2014 and we loved every minute of it. The house itself was very spacious, well layed out, and everything we hoped it would be. It is also wonderfully located and within easy driving reach of all of the main tourist venues and attractions such as Pisa, Florence, Siena, the Chianti and the funny beaches. And of course Lucca, in less than 5 mins by car.
The pool was simply stunning and it was a great attraction for everyone after a day's driving and walking in the hot weather. The veranda in front of the pool allowed us to rest in the shadow and drink and chat with great views in front of the pool. The pool area has a barbeque, a toilet and a room where we could store our things and a refrigerator to keep food and drink cold. It was like a luxury 5 star resort! The village of S. Maccario, a 5 mins walking distanceso from the property, is a relatively small hilltop village but it has everything a family on holiday could wish for including easy access to supermarkets and good restaurants (as well as offering stunning views in all directions!). I'd have no hesitation in recommending the property to anyone looking for a special relaxing holiday exploring Tuscany. We have just returned from a second visit to Lucca a few days ago (this time we stayed in town as there were only 4 of us) and again, we have rented from Sonia for the second time. |

My husband and I visited the Villa in September 2015 and I still can't believe the vivid memories of the house, flowers, the pool and the wonderful people in the surrounding town of Lucca. I can actually say to friends that I cooked an Italian meal in Tuscany. We visited Florence and Pisa during the day and then came back to this beautiful place in the evening. We watched the movie Under the Tuscan Sun while visiting and then looked around and it was not a movie it was real. We would recommend the experience to anyone
